Obama, Biden keep ‘bromance’ alive, reunite at DC bakery

Former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden, whose friendship has generated countless Internet memes, were spotted together Monday grabbing a bite to eat at a Washington bakery.

“Look who stopped by @DogTagBakery for lunch today!” said a tweet from Dog Tag Bakery’s account. “Thank you @BarackObama and @JoeBiden for supporting our mission of empowering veterans with service-connected disabilities, military spouses, and military caregivers!”

The bakery runs the Dog Tag Fellowship program, which provides veterans, military spouses, and caregivers with work experience opportunities.

Obama and Biden have often spoken about the warm relationship they forged on the campaign trail and maintained during their eight years in the White House. Obama even referred to Biden as his “brother” in his farewell address at the end of his administration.

Anita Decker Breckenridge, Obama’s post-presidency chief of staff, told People in 2017 that their “bromance continues.”

“It’s not ended,” Breckenridge said. “That’s one of the things I would say, you know … What does he [Obama] miss about the White House? I mean, they had lunch every single week for eight years.”
