Md.says heat killed 4 in Baltimore

The number of heat-related deaths in Maryland has climbed to 25, with authorities reporting that summer’s scorching temperatures have claimed four more victims.

Three of the newly reported fatalities occurred earlier this month in Baltimore when two elderly women and a man passed away.

The fourth victim was in mid-July and also in Baltimore, but officials only recently confirmed the weather’s role in the man’s death. He was middle-aged and did not have a pre-existing condition that contributed to his death.

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene posts weekly reports on heat-related illness on its website.
