Poll: Highest percentage yet think Clinton will win in November

An overwhelming majority of registered voters think Hillary Clinton will win the presidency in November, according to a new SurveyMonkey Election Tracking poll.

Fifty-six percent of voters think Clinton is most likely to win the presidency, the highest percentage since the poll launched in December. Just 38 percent of respondents think Donald Trump will win, which is down 7 percentage points since last month.

But support for both candidates remains steady, as Clinton holds a 6 percentage point lead on Trump, 48-42. While the percentage of registered voters who identified “terrorism” as their most important issue doubled after the mass shooting in Orlando, Fla., it did not correspond with a shift in support for either candidate.

The tracking poll surveyed 16,135 registered voters online from June 13-19. The “bootstrap confidence interval,” an error estimate, is 1 percentage point.
