A new survey found that politics did not get discussed at the vast majority of Thanksgiving dinners this year, and only a small minority of people who talked about politics actually fought with their friends and family.
The HuffPost/YouGov poll, released Monday, showed that only 16% of Americans talked politics over Thanksgiving, and only 3% actually got into an argument during Thanksgiving dinner.
Part of the reason there were not too many Thanksgiving arguments was that less than a quarter of people went to Thanksgiving dinners with those who disagreed about supporting or opposing President Trump.
The lack of debate comes during a contentious political climate in which House Democrats are pursuing impeachment articles against Trump. Several news outlets issued articles with suggestions on how to talk to relatives about politics during Thanksgiving.
