PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) — The Navy says Huntington Ingalls Inc. has been awarded a $3.3 billion contract to build five Arleigh Burke-class destroyers in five years at the company’s Pascagoula, Miss., shipyard.
One of the DDG 51 class ships is scheduled to be built each year. That begins with the current federal budget year, which started Oct. 1. The contract goes through the budget year that ends Sept. 30, 2018.
