The YMCA of Central Maryland will conduct a major realignment of the organization.
Through a series of strategic plans, the board and chief executive officer John Hoey will work to double the size of the organization during the next 10 years.
“Our leadership team understands that the Y is in a competitive environment and must change the way we operate in order to succeed, grow and fulfill our mission,” Julie Mercer, chair of the board of the YMCA of Central Maryland, said in a statement.
“It won?t be easy, but now we can be properly focused in developing and delivering competitive services that meet the needs of children and families.”
An effort is also under way to work at rebranding the YMCA?s logo and name, and getting the organization?s message out better to consumers better.
Redevelopment of current facilities will be key, as will an attempt to double the YMCA?s annual private donations.
