Scott Walker provided Ted Cruz critical support in the Wisconsin primary, but will support Donald Trump now that he is the the presumptive Republican nominee.
Walker told reporters in Milwaukee that Trump would “clearly” be a better choice than Hillary Clinton in November, citing the business mogul’s plans to appoint conservative Supreme Court justices, cut taxes, reduce regulation and downsize the federal government.
Once a potential GOP presidential candidate himself, when Walker dropped out of the primary in September he called on his fellow Republicans to unite against Trump. In the time since he has been a vocal supporter of candidates who could defeat Trump and formally endorsed Ted Cruz in March.
Despite his apparent support for Trump in November, Walker did not commit to campaigning for the billionaire.
