Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski defended President Trump’s series of departures and new hires over the last few weeks as a positive step for the administration
“You have to have people who are on the president’s agenda,” he said on NBC’s “Meet The Press.
“If you are not on the agenda, you might not want to be in the building. He is bringing people in who are on his team.”
Lewandowski said former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who Trump fired a few weeks ago, had “a fundamental different philosophy when it came to relationships abroad.”
Lewandowski added Tillerson said he thought the Iran nuclear deal negotiated under former President Obama should have been preserved, while Trump does not believe that.
The former campaign manager also defended embattled Chief of Staff John Kelly.
“I have said this very publicly that John Kelly is an American patriot and he has done a good job serving this country,” he said.
