President Trump recently had a state-of-the-art golf simulator installed in his private quarters at the White House.
Trump, the owner of several major golf courses around the country, paid for the $50,000 simulator and its installation out of his own pocket, according to the Washington Post.
The system replaced a similar but outdated system that was installed during former President Barack Obama’s tenure, the report said. The White House said Trump hasn’t used the machine since it was installed.
The report comes less than two weeks after Trump’s daily routine came under scrutiny following a report that said Trump was spending large chunks of his day in “executive time.”
“The media was able to get my work schedule, something very easy to do, but it should have been reported as a positive, not negative,” Trump tweeted after the Axios report published. “When the term Executive Time is used, I am generally working, not relaxing. In fact, I probably work more hours than almost any past president.”
