Beth Baldwin will launch her Plushie Sweater Drive at an opening reception June 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Artisphere in Arlington, where she is the art center’s first artist-in-residence. Attendees are encouraged to bring their used and unwanted sweaters. Baldwin uses recycled materials such as sweaters to create one-of-a-kind animals and houses. She recently began her artist-in-residency with Artisphere but previously sold her creations at D.C.’s Eastern Market. Baldwin’s creations will be on showcase and are available for purchase.
