KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — The Ugandan military says it has killed a rebel fighter and captured another in its campaign against Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army rebels in the Central African Republic.
Ugandan army spokesman Col. Felix Kulayigye said Wednesday that Ugandan forces killed the rebel while hunting down Dominic Ongwen, a rebel general who answers directly to the elusive rebel leader Kony. Both men are wanted by the International Criminal Court.
