South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is happy Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, is on hand at the White House.
Graham held a town hall on Saturday and reportedly expressed his pleasure with her presence near the president at a time when President Trump’s critics are concerned about potential conflicts of interest.
“He’s got his daughter in law, no excuse me his daughter, working in the White House — I don’t know about you, but I’m glad she’s there,” Graham said to laughter, “because I think she’s a pretty smart lady.”
Graham’s appearance came one day after Republicans pulled healthcare legislation promoted by the president and House Speaker Paul Ryan.
