West Point Navistar to upgrade MRAP vehicles

WEST POINT, Miss. (AP) — The Navistar Defense plant at West Point, Mississippi, will upgrade the Army’s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles as part of a $38.4 million contract.

U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., says in a news release Thursday that Navistar will make repairs that will result in the vehicles being “like new”

The contract is for the MRAP Maxx Pro Dash vehicles. It is estimated to be completed in June 2016.

The contract comes from FY2014 appropriations approved by Congress for the Department of Defense.
