Peter Beinart Beinart drives some people crazy. A former editor of the New Republic, the liberal intellectual combines his love for democratic principles with his love for Israel, alienating both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian debate in his search for answers. But he’s also gathering a larger fan base as his ideas gain traction in the Jewish community and beyond. Beinart, who now edits the blog Zion Square for the Daily Beast, was in D.C. last week to discuss his new book, “The Crisis of Zionism,” at the annual J Street Conference. He sat down with The Washington Examiner to discuss Israelis, Palestinians and what Passover has to say about them.
