The Pentagon is denying claims made by the Islamic State that the terror group shot down a coalition warplane Monday afternoon.
The Islamic State’s news agency, Amaq, made the claim earlier in the day. It also said it occurred near the Ayn Asad air base and that the crew was dead.

U.S. Central Command tweeted “There is not truth to reports of ISIL downing a U.S. aircraft near Anbar.”

And Capt. Jeff Davis, director of press operations at the Pentagon, denied the claim saying, “We have confirmed that all coalition aircraft are accounted for.”
