Seven people were taken to the hospital after fentanyl was found in the air ventilation system of an Ohio juvenile detention center.
Law enforcement said they received a call alleging that several juveniles at the facility had collapsed.
They found four juveniles and three staff members affected by the substance and immediately sent them to the hospital for evaluation and treatment, a spokesperson from the Williams County Sheriff’s Department told WTOL 11. Police did not release information on the medical statuses of those affected as of Monday.
The investigators searched the site for what might have caused the response and found fentanyl in the air ventilation.
It is still unknown how fentanyl ended up in the ventilation system.

All other juveniles at the site were moved to the nearby adult detention center while crews investigated the detention center, police said. The juveniles will be kept there until other arrangements can be made for their safety.
