Kellyanne Conway: AOC lied about migrants drinking water out of toilets

Kellyanne Conway called Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a liar for saying that migrants were drinking water out of toilets in border camps.

“Chuck Schumer wants to talk about photo-ops, I saw one yesterday,” the counselor to the president said Tuesday. “It’s called Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez going down to one of these facilities and making this outrageous claim that a woman’s drinking from a toilet that everybody who has control over that facility has said that’s not true. They’ve not heard of this.”

“And then when she was challenged by one of the few reporters who actually ever challenges her facts, she put the window up. Don’t let the air conditioning out,” Conway added.

Ocasio-Cortez responded on Twitter claiming Conway did not actually care about the “basic dignity” of illegal immigrants.

“How many migrant women has Kellyanne Conway touched? Hugged? Sat on a concrete floor with? Actually listened to? The answer is none. Her actions show she doesn’t believe all human beings are worthy of basic dignity. That‘s why she defends & muddies the clear and indefensible,” the New York Democratic representative said.

The spat between the two follows Ocasio-Cortez alleging that a woman told her she was forced to drink water out of toilet during a visit Monday to border camps housing illegal immigrants.

Witnesses in the facility disputed the freshman congresswoman’s claims saying that instead she refused to tour the facility and threatened staff.

“She comes out screaming at our agents, right at the beginning [of the tour] … Crying and screaming and yelling,” one witness said.

“The agents, they wanted to respond, but they held back because she’s a congressional delegate. But when you have someone yelling at you in a threatening manner … ” the witness added. “They were like, ‘Hey, you need to kinda step back.’”

Ocasio-Cortez’s visit to the border was preceded by her equating border camps to concentration camps earlier this month.
