Baltimore County police are looking for a man they said abducted his three boys earlier this month after losing a court custody battle.
Stephen George Kokinakos, 35, told his sister Aug. 18 he was on his way to drop off his three children at Cockeysville police precinct, as arranged, to leave them with their mother. Earlier that day, a Baltimore County circuit judge ordered Kokinakos to surrender custody.
But he never showed.
Now, police said they?re not sure if Kokinakos and the children are in Maryland, or if the children are safe.
“His parents say he would not harm them, on the other hand they say he has a violent temper,” said police spokesman Bill Toohey. “So there you go.”
Family told police that Kokinakos, who lived on the 800 block of Cold Bottom Road in the Sparks Glencoe area, is prone to violent outbursts. He worked three jobs, but employers told police he has not reported for work nor contacted them.
The children are all white with thin builds and dark hair. Christopher, 11, and Matthew, 4, have brown eyes and Alexander, 8, has blue eyes. Kokinakos is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches, with a medium build, brown eyes and dark hair. He was last seen driving his 2005 blue Land Rover with Maryland tags 384M475.
Toohey said children going missing with a parent for longer than one week is very rare.
