The family of the prime suspect in the University of Idaho student quadruple murders said they are promoting his “presumption of innocence.”
In a statement released to the press, the family of Bryan Kohberger expressed their sympathy and care for the families of the victims and stressed their support and cooperation with law enforcement. Primarily, however, it stressed the family’s support for the suspect and his presumption of innocence.

“There are no words that can adequately express the sadness we feel, and we pray each day for [the victims]. We will continue to let the legal process unfold and as a family we will love and support our son and brother,” it says. “We have fully cooperated with law enforcement agencies in an attempt to seek the truth and promote his presumption of innocence rather than judge unknown facts and make erroneous assumptions.”
“We respect privacy in this matter as our family and the families suffering loss can move forward through the legal process,” it adds.

Kohberger was arrested after the murder of four University of Idaho students on Friday after police identified him through his car and genetic genealogical technology.
