Crime Sweep: murder-for-hire bust, father-son killings, Wone closes

MURDER-FOR-HIRE SCHEME BUST: The alleged leader of a District heroin ring and the two men he’s accused of hiring as hitmen in 2007 have been arrested on racketeering and murder charges. The alleged hitmen killed one of their targets and seriously injured two others.

FATHER, SON KILLINGS: A father and son were shot and killed after they resisted handing cash over to men robbing their Northeast wholesale business, Channel 8 reports. This comes a week after Prabhjot Singh was gunned down, and his father pistol whipped in a similar Northeast robbery. Police say they’ve made arrests in the Singh case.

GANG CRIME DOWN: Gang crime is dropping in Montgomery County, but the politicians remain concerned.

WONE CLOSES: The Robert Wone murder cover-up case has gone to the judge, who says she’ll decide by Tuesday. The Post’s telling of the final day of arguments suggests her honor might be leaning toward guilty.
