Trump warns Republicans of ‘repercussions’ if they don’t repeal and replace Obamacare

President Trump warned Republican lawmakers that there will be consequences if they fail to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act after nearly a decade of promising to do so.

“If Republicans don’t Repeal and Replace the disastrous ObamaCare, the repercussions will be far greater than any of them understand!” Trump tweeted.

Trump has been using Twitter to cajole Republican congressmen and senators into speeding up healthcare reform. Trump aimed to get Obamacare repealed in the spring, but has found his agenda stymied by debates in the Republican conferences in both the lower and upper chambers.

The process in the Senate has been more difficult with a thin margin of error available — if three senators defect from the party line then Republicans lose their majority. So far, at least three senators have announced their intention to vote against a bill that would fully repeal the Affordable Care Act and a bill to repeal and replace parts of Obamacare.

Trump also took time to slam the New York Times and Washington Post on Sunday.

“It’s hard to read the Failing New York Times or the Amazon Washington Post because every story/opinion, even if should be positive, is bad!” he tweeted.

He later thanked commentator Lou Dobbs for giving the first six months of his administration a high grade.

“Thank you to @LOUDOBBS for giving the first six months of the Trump Administration an A+. S.C.,reg cutting,Stock M, jobs, border etc. = TRUE!” Trump tweeted.
