We Do the Lying Around Here

The White House is incensed, mad enough to spit, and angry as a mashed cat at Jonathan Gruber for saying that the Affordable Care Act had to be sold to the “stupid” electorate by deceptive means. It seems that once the bill was passed and signed into law Mr. Gruber couldn’t stop talking about how his team had put one over on the rubes, sounding at times like any ordinary flim flam man. The videos of him preening have now come to the attention of even the Washington Post and are an embarrassment. So much so that while he once couldn’t stop talking

… Gruber did not respond to The Washington Post’s requests for an interview.

As Justin Sink of The Hill reports, Josh Earnest “thinks” that he would disagree “vigorously” with Mr. Gruber’s assessment.  And anyway,

“It is Republicans who have been less than forthright and transparent about what their proposed changes to the Affordable Care Act would do.”

Right.  So it was John McCain and the rest of that bunch promising that if you liked your plan, you could keep it?
