WATCH: Walker brushes off SNL mockery, warns comedy could be canceled under Warnock

Republican Herschel Walker dismissed Saturday Night Live’s roast that mocked the Georgia senatorial candidate’s intelligence.

“My name is Herschel Walker Texas Ranger and I’m running for president of the United Airlines,” SNL‘s Keenan Thompson said of Walker in reference to his producing an honorary deputy’s badge on the debate stage to show affiliation with law enforcement.

Walker told Fox & Friends Wednesday that he did not take it personally, but pointed right back to his recent debate performance against Democratic opponent and incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA).

“If you saw the debate, you saw the intellect. You saw that I was ready to take on what they call ‘the best speaker that they’ve ever seen, Sen. Warnock.’ They told me he was this incredible speaker, that he was going to blow me out of the water,” Walker said. “That didn’t happen.”

Walker warned that comedians, such as those performing on SNL, could be canceled if Democrats, including Warnock, remain in power.

“They got to be fun, and they’re comedians, and that’s okay,” Walker said. “You got to have a job, and they are doing good in that job in the United States of America, the greatest country in the world, and I want to keep it like that.”

The Republican senatorial candidate, who is a former professional football player and Heisman Trophy-winning running back out of the University of Georgia in the early 1980s, also reiterated that he would work for all the people of the state of Georgia to “keep everybody working.”

Regarding attacks on his character and allegations of paying for women’s abortions, Walker said his strategy is to “keep going forward.”

“Right now, they [are] going to try to throw everything at me,” Walker said. “They don’t know what they got a hold of when they got Herschel Walker. I’m the wrong Georgian to come after. They can keep coming, I’ll keep knocking them down.”

Walker currently leads Warnock by 1.6 points in polling averages.
