Users across the country were unable to access their Twitter feeds and profiles as the social media giant crashed on Thursday afternoon.
A statement posted on the Twitter website acknowledged the problem saying, “We are currently investigating issues people are having accessing Twitter. We will keep you updated on whats happening.”
The crash occurred on Thursday about one hour before a scheduled Social Media Summit at the White House was scheduled to take place. The president intends to discuss alleged bias against certain political ideologies across social media. Twitter and Facebook were not invited.
