The Montgomery County Board of Appeals Wednesday set a hearing for September that will largely decide the fate of Suburban Hospital’s $200 million expansion plan.
The board will hear oral arguments Sept. 15 from both the hospital and Huntington Terrace Citizens Association, a neighborhood group that argues extending the Bethesda campus will damage the surrounding residential area. The board’s ruling is expected soon after.
Chief Hearing Examiner Francoise Carrier already issued a report recommending the hospital revise its plan.
Suburban wants to add 240,000 square feet and 66 beds to its campus on Old Georgetown Road.
