Jemele Hill out at ESPN: Report

A controversial ESPN anchor who sparred with President Trump will reportedly soon depart the sport’s network.

Jemele Hill accepted a buyout offer from ESPN and her last day is Friday, according to the New York Post. Hill, who makes a reported $2.5 million a year, was the former host of ESPN’s “SportsCenter” until the network reassigned her after Hill called Trump a “white supremacist” and urged NFL fans to boycott companies that advertise with the Dallas Cowboys after owner Jerry Jones said any player of his who protests during the national anthem and disrespects the flag would be benched.

The White House called for ESPN to fire Hill after the comments, which came in the aftermath of Trump’s widely criticized remarks that there were “very fine people” on both sides of a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va.

“That’s one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make,” press secretary Sarah Sanders said at the time.

ESPN later released a statement calling her actions inappropriate.
