President-elect Trump praised President Obama while discussing Russia’s meddling in the U.S. presidential election.
“Fox New Sunday” host Chris Wallace asked Trump if he thought Obama ordering a review of Russia’s involvement in the election was an effort by Democrats to undercut his stunning win.
“Well, it could be,” Trump said. “I think President Obama has been terrific. He’s been, you know, very respectful of the process and everything else. So, I saw that.”
Trump added that Democrats could be calling for hearings because “they’re very embarrassed” about his victory.
Trump slammed Obama throughout the presidential campaign, but has taken a different tone since their first meeting after Election Day.
He called the president “a very good man” after the two met at the White House. His transition team has since said the two talk “regularly.”
