Donald Trump claims he’s planning to deliver a rebuttal speech in response to Hillary Clinton’s stinging indictment of his foreign policy last week.
“I will actually be doing it. I think I’m going to go do a retort to her speech,” the presumptive Republican presidential nominee told CNN’s Jake Tapper in an interview aired Sunday.
“Maybe I’ll do it on Monday before the election,” he suggested, referring to the final round of Democratic and Republican nominating contests next Tuesday.
During a speech last week in San Diego, Calif., Clinton called Trump “erratic” and “temperamentally unfit” to be commander-in-chief. The former secretary of state also suggested he shouldn’t be trusted with the nuclear codes.
“Most of the things — many of the things she said were absolutely wrong,” Trump told Tapper.
A spokeswoman for the Trump campaign told NBC News that a speech will not take place tomorrow and did not provide additional details on when the billionaire might deliver a rebuttal.
