Satirist: Obama to produce Netflix series about Trump impeachment

The New Yorker‘s satirical specialist Andy Borowitz published his latest piece about a new deal former President Barack Obama entered with Netflix to produce a new series about President Trump’s potential impeachment.

Trump is facing an impeachment inquiry following a July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he encouraged the former leader to begin an investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

Borowitz wrote that the $90 million deal will begin production in either October or November.

“We’ve already hit the ground running on the script,” Borowitz wrote, attributing it to Obama. “Rudy Giuliani has given us a lot to work from.”

“Right now, the main character reveals the smoking gun himself in the first episode,” Borowitz had the former president continue. “There’s virtually no mystery.”

In reality, the Obamas inked a deal with Netflix to produce seven projects, including a documentary about Frederick Douglass.
