Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker took to Instagram on Saturday to tell fans he is doing much better since being treated for “severe life-threatening pancreatitis.”
The musician was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday, with wife Kourtney Kardashian by his side, after developing what he said was “excruciating pain” from a medical procedure the day before.
“I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since,” Barker wrote on his Instagram story. “During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis.”

Barker added, “I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”

The drummer’s post adds insight to his daughter’s Instagram story on Tuesday, in which she asked for prayers for her father.

While Barker had also tweeted, “God save me,” around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, it’s still not clear whether it was related to his hospital visit. “God save me” is also the name of a song by Machine Gun Kelly, another music artist with whom Barker is friends.
