Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter than pop diva Britney Spears is close to finalizing a contract that would make her a judge on Fox’s “The X Factor.” Spears’ agent (and fiance) Jason Trawick is said to be in negotiations and a deal might be annouced as soon as next week. Reports indicate that it was “X Factor” creator Simon Cowell who originally reached out to Spears to see if she was interested. Cowell is looking to replace Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, who left the show after the first season concluded.
