A new TV ad from the Campaign for American Values highlights Barack Obama’s recent apology to Islamists over terrorist attacks on American embassies, and contrasts that with the Obama administration’s efforts to curb religious liberties at home.
“President Obama found time to apologize to radical Islamists,” the voiceover says. “Meanwhile, back in the United States, Obama’s bureaucrats are forcing religious Americans to pay for drugs that cause abortion.” Watch the ad below:
The ad, which will be airing in markets in Wisconsin and Iowa, is part of a multimedia campaign by CAV, including radio ads in Ohio and campaign mailers.
Gary Bauer, the chairman of CAV, says voters in swing states care about religious liberties, particularly those who might be wary of Republican rhetoric on the economy. Bauer hopes those voters also make the connection between the recent attacks on religious freedoms and the ease with which Obama rationalizes Islamist violence against Americans as “anti-Islam.”
“I think voters sense a general connection, but we hope that the ad helps connects the dots for them,” Bauer says.
