Obama Still Has Time for Hollywood

Variety reports that Barack Obama is headed to LA on September 16 for a fundraiser headed by Steve Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg:

Barack Obama will be in Los Angeles on Sept. 16 for a fund-raiser at an as-yet-undisclosed location. Save the date notices went out late last week from Andy Spahn, political adviser for Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg, so this looks to be the much-anticipated fete from the DreamWorks partners. Reception is $2,500 per person and dinner is $28,500 per person, meaning that the event is raising money through the Democratic National Committee. Given the shortened general election campaign, this may very well be Obama’s final visit before Nov. 4.

I have to imagine that many of the Hollywood folks who will attend the reception have already made the maximum legal contribution to Obama’s campaign, so this event will focus on raking in cash for the DNC to spend on Obama’s behalf.
