‘All in on this radical, hardcore agenda’: Mark Levin admonishes Democrats’ treatment of Barr at hearing

Conservative radio host Mark Levin said Democrats with a “radical, hardcore agenda” were “beating up” Attorney General William Barr during a House Judiciary Committee hearing last week.

“I’ve never seen a senior official of any administration ever treated like that,” Levin said Saturday on Fox News’s Watters’ World, adding, “This hearing should have been how do we come together as a nation to put down rioters who were trying to overthrow the country. Marxists, anarchists, whether they’re Black Lives Matter or antifa. But that’s not how it works. The Democrat Party is all in on this radical, hardcore agenda. And so they’re beating up on the attorney general.”

Barr appeared before the House Judiciary Committee last Tuesday in a hearing that was often contentious as Democrats repeatedly cut off his responses by saying they were “reclaiming my time.” At one point, Chairman Jerry Nadler briefly denied Barr a five-minute break during the more than three-hour hearing, prompting the attorney general to call him a “class act.”

Levin contended during the interview that Democrats are working to malign Barr’s reputation ahead of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the Russia investigation and its origins. He said Democrats are “trying to soften him up and ruin his reputation when that information comes out.”

The conservative radio star also addressed former President Barack Obama’s eulogy during Georgia Rep. John Lewis’s funeral last week, saying he is a “pathological liar.”

“Look, Barack Obama is a pathological liar. They’re trying to set the stage for if it’s a close election of one or two battleground states, that it’s systemic racism,” Levin said. “They’ve been laying this foundation for months and months and months.”

“You’re [Obama] one of the great reasons in this country where there is a huge racial divide. And you could have been a great leader,” he added. “You could have a great leader, the American people of all races. But you couldn’t put aside your community activism.”

Obama delivered a eulogy Thursday for the late congressman, praising him as a civil rights leader while also addressing racial and political issues.

“Bull Conner may be gone, but today, we witness with our own eyes police officers kneeling on the necks of black Americans,” Obama declared. “George Wallace may be gone, but we can witness our federal government sending agents to use tear gas and batons against peaceful demonstrators.”

“There are those in power who are doing their darnedest to discourage people from voting by closing polling locations and targeting minorities and students with restrictive ID laws. … I know this is a celebration of John’s life,” he continued. “But that’s why I’m talking about it.”
