WATCH: WWII soldier’s widow tells Trump she voted for him during Medal of Honor ceremony for her late husband

The widow of a World War II soldier told President Trump on Tuesday that she voted for him while she was on stage at the White House receiving the Medal of Honor on behalf of her late husband.

Army 1st Lt. Garlin Murl Conner’s widow, Pauline Conner, whispered the remarks in Trump’s ear as she hugged him Tuesday just before accepting the award.

“She told me she voted for Trump,” the president said after giving Pauline Conner an elongated hug.

Trump awarded the Medal of Honor to Pauline for Garlin Murl Conner’s 28 months of service. Garlin Murl Conner of Albany, Ky., died in 1998 at age 79.
