Warren fundraises for Clinton, calls her ‘progressive,’ ‘fighter’

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., sent a fundraising email for Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, calling the presumptive Democratic nominee a “fighter” with a “progressive agenda.”

Warren, who just endorsed Clinton last week after the final primary contest in Washington, D.C., wrote, “Hillary is a fighter. Throughout this campaign, she has said she’ll hold Wall Street accountable, raise the minimum wage, protect and expand Social Security, and help students graduate from college without being buried in debt.”

“She’ll fight for women’s rights and LGBT rights and immigrant rights and civil rights. That’s Hillary’s agenda, and it is a progressive agenda,” Warren added.

This is the first time in the 2016 election cycle that Warren has fundraised for Clinton. As one of the most progressive members of the Senate, her endorsement could help Clinton unify the Democratic Party, as many Bernie Sanders supporters claim that Clinton isn’t progressive enough to lead the party.

Although the Clinton campaign won’t reveal who they are considering as a running mate, there have been numerous reports that Warren is under consideration. Furthermore, Clinton has said that she would welcome another female on the ticket.

“So here’s the deal: Hillary is smart as a whip, and she’s a tough cookie,” Warren wrote in the fundraising email, which called for $1 donations.

She can take Donald Trump’s attacks and nasty name-calling,” Warren continued. “But if she’s going to win in November — if we are going to win in November — then she cannot do it alone.”
