Democrat Jim Webb told ABC News that he has been getting “a lot of support” as he’s exploring a presidential run.
Watch here:
Host George Stephanopoulos asked, “What are you up to, exactly?”
“Well, we’re actually truly exploring whether it is possible to conduct a viable campaign in this present environment where money is flooding the political process,” Webb said, talking of a possible presidential run.
“Is it possible?”
“I think it might be,” Webb said. “We’re listening. We’ve been around. We’ve got a lot of support through people coming across e-mails, Internet. And, you know, for me, we need to be focusing on the dysfunction that’s occurred in our economic system, and also when you look at the issue that you were just discussing with the iran situation, the true constitutional challenges in the relationship between the president and Congress.”
Webb went on to make the case that President Obama needs to work with Congress on any deal he might negotiate with Iran.
But Webb, when given an opportunity to attack the Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton, passed it up.
