Mark Cuban calls out Trump: ‘He doesn’t have the cash’

Mark Cuban continued his assault on Donald Trump Tuesday by saying Trump doesn’t have nearly as much money as he boasts.

“If @realDonaldTrump were fractionally as rich as he says he is, he would write a $200mm check to propel his campaign. He doesn’t have the cash,” the billionaire entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks said on Twitter Tuesday.

The comments from Cuban came after Trump pushed back against a Federal Election Commission report showing his presidential campaign had just $1.3 million in cash on hand at the beginning of the month. Hillary Clinton’s campaign, by comparison, had $42 million at the beginning of June.

In a press release Tuesday, Trump defended the shockingly low fundraising numbers, saying that his campaign’s efforts are just beginning.

“If need be, there could be unlimited ‘cash on hand’ as I would put up my own money, as I have already done through the primaries, spending over $50 million dollars. Our campaign is leaner and more efficient, like our government should be,” Trump said in the release.
