A campaign to end relationship violence drew more than 150 students to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County on Wednesday, where school officials reflected on the beating death of University of Virginia senior Yeardley Love — and the charging of her boyfriend, George Huguely, in her death.
School officials said they are ramping up efforts to curb dating violence by raising awareness through community talks and postings urging students to speak up about dangerous relationships.
The school’s efforts will be helped by a $25,000 grant the Verizon Foundation donated to help expand violence prevention programs.
