The homes will be built on parcels bought from the city for $500 each by Siouxland Human Investment Partnership. The city had acquired the lots during utility and street projects and through other means. Woodbury County Assessor’s Office records say the lots range in value from $2,100 to $13,100.
The nonprofit group oversees several social service programs in partnership with other agencies. Its executive director, Jim France, told the newspaper that the group wants “to be a catalyst to make this happen.”
