After leaving his commentator gig on CNN, President-elect Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is joining One America News Network, a start-up conservative television network.
“He’s working for us like he worked for CNN,” OANN CEO Robert Herring said Thursday.
Lewandowski’s boss did not share Lewandowski’s salary.
“We got a lot of help from [Corey] in the past, and he seems like very nice guy and very knowledgeable… You know, we’re a growing network, and we saw a chance when he quit CNN and we just grabbed it,” Herring said.
Lewandowski started working as a political commentator for the Herring Broadcasting production last week. OANN is available to approximately 15 million viewers. The San Diego-based company has a studio in Washington, where Lewandowski will be based as he starts a new lobbying firm.
Trump had fired Lewandowski in mid-June, prompting the unemployed campaign head to find work at CNN, where he defended his former boss as a pundit. Days after the election, Lewandowski was spotted walking into Trump Tower in Manhattan for a meeting, which was believed to be for a potential spot in the president-elect’s administration.
No such job manifested and Lewandowski announced in late December that he would be co-principal behind Avenue Strategies, a new government relations and political consulting firm in Washington.
