Michael Flynn to accept ‘Service to America’ award at far-right conference: Report

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn is accepting an award as he appears at the Gateway Pundit’s upcoming conference this weekend, a new report says.

Gateway Pundit, a far-right website founded in 2004, is giving Flynn the “Award for Service to America” on Friday, after several discussions titled “President Trump Is #Winning” on Friday, the Daily Beast reports. Two other awards will also be distributed at the conference: the “Full-time Homemaker of the Year Award,” and the “Phyllis Schlafly Award for Excellence in Leadership.”

Included in the speaker lineup are figures such as “Pizzagate” promoters Mike Cernovich and Jack Posobiec, Turning Point USA leaders Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens, and Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe.

A variety of topics will be addressed at the conference, including “The Fraud of Transgenderism,” “Authentic Abstinence: It Works Every Time!!” and “Inconvenient Facts: How rising temperatures and increasing CO2 are benefiting the Earth and humanity,” among other topics.

Flynn pleaded guilty in federal court in December for lying to the FBI in January 2017 about his contacts with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Flynn was charged on one count of “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to the FBI about communications exchanged with a Russian envoy.

Lying to the FBI could mean up to five years behind bars, but it’s not expected Flynn will receive such a harsh sentence because he has complied with special counsel Robert Mueller and the FBI. Flynn is expected to be sentenced later this month.

Mueller is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin.
