For the first time since 2004, music sales were up slightly. CD sales tallied $3.1 billion, digital albums $1.1 million and single digital tracks brought in $1.5 billion. The total for the year comes in just above last year’s $7.01 billion. Probably a good bet that Adele’s smash “21” contributed to that overall number.
