The lede from the Washington Post report:
A prominent Democratic fundraiser and ally of Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) is attempting to secure a lobbying contract with the pariah regime in Sudan, which has embarked on an aggressive effort to enlist U.S. support against allegations of genocide and war crimes.
And just for the record, Kerry isn’t above tarring politicians for their associations with shady lobbyists. The lobbyist, Robert B. Crowe, says we shouldn’t worry — “The Obama administration is talking about engagement, and we believe in that…If we can make a difference, we will. But if we get into this and determine we can’t, we’ll walk away.” Somebody give that man a gold star for his positive attitude. Last word goes to Rep. Frank Wolf: “Would you represent Hitler? Would you represent Mao?…Anybody who does that ought to be blackballed in this town.”
