WHAT: Cutter, during a Thursday conference call with reporters, raised the possibility that “Mitt Romney, through his own words and his own signature, was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the [Securities and Exchange Commission], which is a felony.”
WHY IT’S DIM: Cutter accused Romney of committing “a felony” based on a Boston Globe study of federal documents that confused one Bain-associated legal entity with another, according to a George Mason University corporate law expert.
CURE: Wait until at least Labor Day before accusing your opponent of a felony.
