The District will celebrate area activism Wednesday night at the Sixth Annual Activist Awards Grassroots Gala.
The Washington Peace Center is honoring 10 local activists with awards for their progressive approaches to activism.
he gala is from 6 to 9 p.m. at All Souls Church at 1500 Harvard St. NW. Sonia Silbert, director of the Washington Peace Center, said the “whole city is lifted up” when activists are honored. “Celebrating the most amazing activism in D.C. inspires all of us to do more to make the world a better place.”
