CNN host Jake Tapper took heat after he retweeted Kellyanne Conway’s husband, George Conway, calling President Trump “insane.”
“He’s 100% insane,” Conway said in the tweet Tapper shared. “And nobody in the administration has the balls to tell him that.”

“Noteworthy comment on folks in the administration from a Trump critic who knows a lot of them,” the CNN host said after his original retweet.

Critics ripped into Tapper, saying his retweet showed liberal media bias.
After receiving criticism for favorably retweeting a particularly unhinged Trump critic who is a media favorite, anti-Trump cable outlet CNN host Jake Tapper now attempting to walk it back. https://t.co/Qw4dkHNKLr

I will never understand Jake Tapper apologists on the right who act like he’s some kind of non-partisan voice of reason.

Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley was another one of the critics who slammed Tapper for sharing the tweet.
“Tapper’s retweeting that ‘Trump is 100% insane’ only further undermines the media by reaffirming for many that the media is campaigning against Trump rather than covering him,” Turley said in a Tuesday tweet. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”
The CNN host responded saying a retweet did not necessarily mean he agreed with Conway’s sentiment.
“I RTed Conway, a conservative attorney and Trump critic, because he wrote that no one in the administration has the courage to stand up to the president which seems newsworthy given how many people in the administration he knows,” Tapper said. “RTs do not nec. = agreement.”
