At a rally sprinkled with anti-Democratic National Committee and anti-Hillary Clinton signs on Monday in Philadelphia, Bernie Sanders implored his supporters to vote for Clinton and Tim Kaine.
“We have got to elect Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine.”
It did not go over well.
The pro-Bernie crowd immediately booed his statement. Cameras show lots of people pointing their thumbs down and raising signs that read “Not Hillary Not Trump.”
After a short while, Sanders went on to berate Donald Trump as “a bully and a demagogue.”
The booing increased, until it was overcome by what sounded like chants of “we want her.”
At the very end, Sanders’ wife seemed to say to him, though it was unclear because of other noise, “they don’t know your name was being put in nomination, that’s why they’re shouting.”
