Special counsel’s team has interviewed Michael Cohen numerous times: Report

President Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to eight felonies in August, sat down with special counsel Robert Mueller’s team numerous times the past month, according to a new report.

Cohen was pressed for details on Trump’s financial and business dealings with Russia, in addition to potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in an attempt to sway the 2016 election, sources familiar with the issue told ABC News.

Furthermore, investigators also sought information on whether Trump or Trump associates have addressed potentially pardoning Cohen.

Mueller is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin.

Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts in August, including one count of willful cause of unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of excessive campaign contribution on Oct. 27, 2016. His sentencing date is slated for Dec. 12 in a New York federal court.

The campaign finance violations pertained to payments Cohen made to two women who claimed to have had affairs with Trump. They were paid per the direction of the “candidate” in exchange for their silence.

Trump has denied allegations of the affairs, and has been critical of Cohen following his guilty plea.

“If anyone is looking for a good lawyer, I would strongly suggest you don’t retain the services of Michael Cohen,” Trump tweeted last month.

Trump has repeatedly blasted Mueller’s investigation, and routinely refers to the probe as a “witch hunt.”
