Some fans of HBO’s Game of Thrones were furious and frustrated they were unable to stream the premiere of the prequel show, House of the Dragon, Sunday night.
The HBO Max app crashed shortly before 9 p.m., and upset customers took to Twitter almost immediately.

“Soooo, you want me to watch #HouseOfDragon after the disaster that was S8 of #GameOfThrones, but your app keeps crashing and I can’t even do that, @HBOMaxHelp? coooooool,” one viewer tweeted.
Another said HBO should offer refunds.
“Every other Ap I own works great. Why does HBO max crash on every premier show ever launched? Been going on for months now. Would like some $ back please. What gives?” the user tweeted.
Others predicted the app would not be able to handle the anticipated high amount of traffic.
We have had so many streaming issues with @hbomax I fully expect the app to crash when the House of the Dragon premieres tonight. I don’t think they have had a big premiere on the streaming service yet.
